My account is banned. What should I do?

If your account is temporarily banned, you will see a date and time when the ban is set to expire. Please do not reach out to the Scratch Team if this is the case. You'll be able to use Scratch again when the ban expires, and we will not shorten the length of the ban if you reach out.
If your account is not temporarily banned, you'll see a form on the screen when you log in. You can use the form to calmly explain how your account was used to break the Community Guidelines and provide an email address where the Scratch Team can get in touch with you. We read every message sent to us through this form and will work with you to help get you back onto Scratch.
It's important that you do not make alternate accounts to evade a ban. Please go through the appeals process. Creating alternate accounts is against the Community Guidelines and can lengthen the amount of time you are banned.
