What are the system requirements for Scratch?

Modified on Wed, 21 Jan at 10:56 AM

Scratch runs on most modern web browsers on desktops, laptops, and tablets. You can view projects on mobile phones, but Scratch does not currently support creating or editing projects on phones.

Scratch supports versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari released within the last 3 years. Scratch may run on other browsers, but they are not officially supported.

Recommended Operating Systems:

  • Windows 10 version 1709 or higher
  • macOS 10.13 or higher
  • iOS version 10 or higher (Tablets only)
  • Android 8.0 or higher (Tablets only)

Notes:

  1. If your device doesn’t meet these requirements, you can try the Scratch app editor.
  2. If you encounter a WebGL error, try a different browser.
  3. On tablets, there is currently no way to use "key pressed" blocks or right-click context menus.
