We strive to keep the Scratch website safe, friendly, and respectful. We use an automated filter system and also review all user reports of inappropriate content. Our team of moderators locate and remove any content which violates our Community Guidelines. We monitor usage and block any accounts and networks posting inappropriate content.
We require all users to follow our Community Guidelines. Should you or your child see comments that violate these guidelines, we ask that you continue to report the comments by hitting the "Report" button or sending a message to Contact Us.
At this time, we do not provide parental settings that would allow you to disable your child's ability to share or comment on Scratch. However, there are a few options you may consider if you'd like to limit the interactions your child has with other Scratchers.
One option would be to create a new account and to not confirm the email address when you receive the confirmation email. This would stop your child from sharing or commenting on Scratch.
Another suggestion, should you not wish to create a new account, would be to turn off commenting on your child's profile page and project pages - this will limit other Scratchers from communicating with your child outside of “loving” and “favoriting” their projects. Though, it will not stop your child from sharing projects or commenting on Scratch.
Alternatively, the Scratch App might be helpful. It would allow your child to continue making projects offline without the added components of the Scratch online community: https://scratch.mit.edu/download
