Our report system is in place to keep the site safe and make sure that inappropriate content doesn’t stay on Scratch for too long.
Recently, we have seen some Scratchers misusing the report system. We have a team of moderators who look at user reports and will take action against Scratchers who are misusing the report system.
Additionally, we’ll check out all reported content to check whether it’s OK for Scratch. If we see that something was reported and removed incorrectly, we’ll restore it. If you have been waiting a long time for the Scratch Team to review a project that has been removed because of community reports, you can reach out through Contact Us and let us know.
If you see a notification that begins with “The Scratch Team has removed this project because…”, know that a Scratch Team member has already checked out the project and decided it was inappropriate.
We would not block an account or take action against a Scratcher for being reported for content that is OK for Scratch. We also do not take automatic bans into consideration when we make the difficult decision to ban an account.
